Mumbai is building 20 metro lines and over 250 stations at once — one of the largest transit build-outs underway anywhere in the world. This map tracks all of it in one place: what runs today, what is under construction, and what is still on paper, with a date and a source behind every claim.
Why the old-map look? India's first train left Bombay for Thane on 16 April 1853, and the railway surveys of that era were inked by hand on sheets like this one. The city that began India's railway story gets its metro drawn the old way.
