About This Site

What is this site?

This site is a free map of the Mumbai Metro. It shows every line and every station. It shows what is running today, what is being built, and what is planned. It also shows when each line is expected to open.

This site is a reference, not a journey planner. It does not sell tickets. It does not show train timings or fares. For tickets and timings, please use the official metro apps.

Who made it?

My name is Upamanyu Acharya. I live in Mumbai. I built this site and I maintain it myself, in my own time.

This is an independent project. It is not an official government website. It is not connected to MMRDA, MMRC, MMMOCL, or any other metro authority or operator.

Where does the data come from?

All figures come from public records: government press releases, official gazette notices (the government's formal publications of record), official project pages, and news reports. Map geometry comes from OpenStreetMap.

A few words this site uses: a station's own page is called its dossier; every station's engraved drawing lives in the Station Log Book; and the list of all the lines is the Line Status Ledger.

Every number on the map carries a small src tag. Click it to see the exact source. The full list is on the Sources page. How each figure is derived is on the Methodology page.

Dates can slip. Official targets change. If a figure looks out of date, please write to me and I will check it.

How often is it updated?

The data is refreshed every month, and sooner when a line opens. Every change to the site is recorded, with its date, in the Log of Changes.

Does it cost anything?
